Glenwood Springs, CO. — Glenwood Insurance Agency has launched an aggressive food drive campaign to assist LIFT-Up in their mission to feed the less fortunate in western Colorado. Glenwood Insurance Agency’s “Thousand Can Drive” will attempt to match or exceed the amount of cans collected by Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park throughout the summer at the Music on the Mountain, which is an on-going food drive for LIFT-Up which allows patrons to ride the Iron Mountain Tramway for free with the donation of a can or other non-perishable item.
All food collected by Glenwood Insurance Agency and other participating business will be donated to LIFT-Up prior to Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park’s final Music on the Mountain concert on September 26 in a small ceremony. Glenwood Insurance Agency is the title sponsor of that evening’s concert featuring local band, The Missing Link.
“We would love to see business all over the valley get involved this year,” said Ian Exelbert, COO of Glenwood Insurance Agency. “GIA employees will be tasked with collecting 1,000 cans and I hope we can reach 10,000 if enough people get involved.”
Exelbert continued, “We want to do our part to help the hungry in our area. The framework LIFT-Up and Glenwood Caverns set up is admirable and has proven to be really successful. This is an exciting way for our employees, our clients, and our community to get engaged and help out.”
In both of the first two years, a couple of local dental offices turned the event into a competition. Murray Dental and Heim and Johnson, DDS had a duel that helped bring the 2014 total to over 3500 food items donated.
Those that would like to help Glenwood Insurance Agency may make donations at the agency’s location at 1605 Grand Avenue, Unit K in Glenwood Springs, or at Carbondale Insurance Service at 502 Main Street in Carbondale. All food collected will be donated prior to Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park’s Music on the Mountain on September 26th.
