Glenwood Insurance Agency is invested in our community…

nettieNettie Avery, Owner & Commercial Insurance Sales, Glenwood Insurance Agency joined the Board of Advocate Safehouse Project in 2013. ASP started in 1986  and continues strong today.

“It is a rewarding position to help those in need in our community. Our mission at Advocate Safehouse is to promote healthy relationships free from violence through education, advocacy, empowerment and safe-housing.”

A few of the cool things at ASP are:   we have a 24 hour hotline, we have a Safehouse for those needing shelter/support  and we are working with local high schools to educate our youth on healthy relationships.  Most recently, ASP has worked with the GSHS freshman football team to  implement  a program called “Coaching Boys into Men” .  Coach Pat Engel has supported this program which supports educates his team members on  relationships free from violence.  Now, those team members  are giving back to our community through volunteering at the Mother’s Day Mile.

Advocate Safehouse Project relies on community donations and support at our fundraisers:  Lunafest—films by, for and about women, Mother’s Day Mile –fun run and silent auction (coming up on May 10th),  our annual Horse Show ( August 8-9th at the Strang Ranch), Safe Nights  and Colorado Gives  (with the support of 1st Bank)  in mid-December.
